Black Jack, or twenty-one, as it is often called, at first seems deceptively simple. After all, you just have to draw cards until you are as close as possible to twenty-one without going over that number. However, if you try to play without any clear tactics to win, you will quickly find yourself consistently losing to the dealer. Just like in any other casino game, the odds initially favor the house. In the case of Black Jack, this is because in a few cases where the dealer and player do equally well, the dealer still wins.

The difference between those other games and Black Jack, is that by taking the time to develop a solid approach, you can reduce the house’s advantage and even tilt the odds in your favor. Casinos are just betting that you won’t bother to do this. Prove them wrong and you can win - and consistently and reliably make money through gambling!

This is possible because the dealer has only two options at any point: he or she can hit (take a card), or he or she can stand (stop taking cards and finish the turn). In contrast, the player has the option of doubling down (doubling the bet and agreeing to take one more card, after which he or she must stand), splitting (playing two hands at once while doubling the bet), and, at some casinos, surrendering (where the player forfeits half the bet and ends the turn). Knowing when and how to use each of these methods in a Black Jack game significantly increases the chance that you will win.

Once those techniques are mastered, the one additional factor that tilts the odds decisively in the player’s favor is learning how to do some basic card counting. This means that the player must pay attention to what cards have been dealt up until this point, and by inductive reasoning determines what cards he and the dealer are likely to be dealt. Obviously, this means that the smart Black Jack player’s odds improve as the dealer gets nearer and nearer to the end of the deck. Since more cards have already been dealt out, there are fewer possible cards left to be given, and therefore, the player has a better chance of correctly guessing the value of the next card he or she will be dealt, so long as he or she has been paying proper attention.

Learning proper Black Jack strategy is fun, it is not difficult, and it can make an enormous difference in your life. Imagine being able to reliably win money playing a game; this is what strategic Black Jack players are able to do. By taking the time developing and refining your game and learning strategy in order to maximize your odds of winning, you can easily learn to play Black Jack like the pros and become a winner. When you learn to make the rules of the game work to your advantage, the sky is the limit.

It all started with Forehead Goldie, a Utah woman named Karolyne Smith who agreed to have GoldenPalace.com permanently tattooed on her forehead for $10,000 in order to pay for her child to go to school. Since then, GoldenPalace.com, the online casino and poker room more famous for its publicity stunts than its games, has capitalized on what may possibly be the final frontier in display advertising — the human body.

In their years-long and still ongoing "Human Billboard" campaign, they have purchased literally tens of thousands of dollars worth of ad space on various peoples' body parts, most typically through an eBay auction posted by the tattooee. Here are some recent highlights from this new and questionably sane breed of entrepreneur:

A 20-year old from Evansville, IN had the online casino's logo tattooed on his ankle, the first "below the belt" credit to GoldenPalace's name. He said he came up with the idea in order to pay off some hefty Bureau of Motor Vehicles fines.

A grandmother and her daughter agreed to have GoldenPalace.com temporarily tattooed on their chests for 3 months. A second daughter has agreed to have the logo tattooed on her pregnant belly, also for 3 months. Their total earnings: $1,000.00.

Speaking of pregnant — 3 actual sisters from St. Petersburg, FL, all pregnant at the same time, got $5,000.00 for donning the same temporary GoldenPalace.com tattoo for 3 months. They even said, if they had to go out in cold weather, they'd wear a GoldenPalace.com sweatshirt.

GoldenPalace sponsored Professional Arm Wrester Brent Norris with $1,150.00 in exchange for, among other concessions, a temporary tattoo of the GoldenPalace logo on his wrestling arm. This occasion has precedent: the GoldenPalace logo also took up temporary residence on female World Arm Wrestling champion Dawn Higgin's arm and forehead during a subsequent years' championship match in Tokyo.

But enough of this temporary nonsense (the ankle is permanent, at least). GoldenPalace paid a woman from Fountain, FL $15,000 for a promised media blitz that included a permanent tattoo of the online casino's logo on her chest, 3 hours a day for 3 days in a swimsuit in 3 different heavily-trafficked spots, and an aerial advertising banner flown over Florida's beaches.

Reno resident Molly Demers traded the back of her head for $18,000, consenting to have her head shaved, and the GoldenPalace.com logo permanently tattooed on the bald spot. As a side note, Ms. Demers says she donated the hair she shed to Locks of Love, a charity that gives hairpieces to low-income kids with long-term, medical hair loss.

An Anchorage, Alaska boxer took $4,450 for the right to tattoo GoldenPalace permanently wherever on his body they'd like. That includes multiple tattoos, as many as GoldenPalace decides, located, in the seller's words, "on most of my body". And on his truck - for life (his or the truck's?)

Professional stunt men LeatherFace and The Executioner, made famous on MTV's Viva La Bam are being paid a total of $13,000 to have GoldenPalace.com permanently inked on their arms. Both men are donating 20% of their earnings to The Children's Miracle Network.

And speaking of children, in a related stunt, GoldenPalace paid $222.50 to 4 year-old David (last name purposely excluded) from Charlotte, NC for the right to select his wardrobe for a full month. Fortunately, GoldenPalace has only one thing in mind, and David's outfits will probably consists of modest shirts, shorts, and caps with the GoldenPalace logo emblazoned on them. Odd, though — don't you think? — to have a minor advertising a gambling site. Aw, what the heck! It's cute.

The game of poker is cherished since a long time. It has caught a lot of publicity and fanfare in past few decades. Now there are many poker tournaments across the world and even online. Poker lovers all over the world are glued to their television channels like ESPN when these tournaments are telecasted.

Poker is not just confined to casinos or bars. In fact it has traveled back to our homes from where it supposedly originated. A surge in the popularity of the game has given rise to many different types of poker games. Like Hold Em, Omaha Hold Em, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Eight or Better High-Low Stud etc. These games can be played by anyone who loves and wishes to play poker. If someone is naïve to this game, better start with home poker, which has the advantage of not being labeled as a form of gambling. So a young group of guys and gals can try their hands at Texas Hold Em or Five Card Draw.

The players should preferably be more than five or at least five to play the game authentically. Else the game can be played with the dealer's choice. But before commencing the game it is necessary for everyone playing it to have knowledge of the rules and regulations of the game. If the is played domestically the information might be that perfect but if you move out to play in casinos, it is advisable to have requisite and adequate knowledge of this game.

Like every other game Poker tournaments too have certain specified rules about the structuring of prizes, fees and betting. Those who win have the opportunity to take millions back to their homes. The best place to enjoy the charming game is known to be a casino in Las Vegas. Nowadays almost all big casinos have some or the other poker tournament going on. The Caribbean Stud form of poker is adorable and acclaimed by the players. This game is derived from the Five Card Stud form of poker. It is popular because the game is for a relatively short duration of time, as it does not require an entire group to be settled before its commencement. Despite of it the pot is high for this comparatively easily comprehensible game. Besides Caribbean Stud games like Texas, hold em and seven card stud are also cherished by people.

Many casinos like Excalibur offer free demonstration classes to tutor the beginners about this addictive game. It brings to them lot of crowd and sale. The aura and charisma of the game is such that it makes many celebrities too try their hands at it. Even women are getting attracted to the widespread popularity of this game. Surveys reveal that those sports channels telecast good number of poker tournaments are most liked by people. The best show is supposed to be The World Poker Tour, which can be viewed on the Travel Channel. According to the staggering rise in the glory of this game it would perhaps be right to say –if you want to have fun, play poker once!

Today, I thought I would share some quick gambling tips with you. These tips can be used with any gambling game(s) you enjoy. Many people are losing gamblers, because they simply play a game without any thought and hope luck comes along. Luck is what you make of it. By following some simple tips, you can get more out of your gambling experience.

Gambling Tip One: Set a limit

Money management is a key component in the arsenal of any winning gambler. Perhaps one of the worst things you can do, as a gambler, is to not play with set limits. Before gambling, you should set:

(1) the maximum amount you are willing to lose,

(2) the point at which you will stop gambling when ahead and

(3) the general amount you will bet with each wager.

Gambling Tip Two: Educate yourself

The more you know about a game and the circumstances governing the game, the better shot you will have at both following your set plans and winning some money. If nothing else, pick up at least one book or read some good in-depth tutorials on the game before gambling. I know many gamblers here in Las Vegas that are consistent losers. The sad part is they think it's their lack of luck when it's really the fact that they don't know much of anything about the operation and circumstances that govern their games of choice.

Gambling Tip Three: Don't be scared.

If you are scared of losing money you should not gamble. If the amount you are wagering is causing you to be under pressure, you need to reduce the amount you are wagering. When gamblers wager money they are not free with, they do not win as often. By being scared, you will make poor decisions—including missing out on winning chances. I have seen this happen time and time again. Get your head on straight and wager money you can afford to lose.

These three gambling tips can be used at any game in the casino. Think about these seriously before you wager another hard earned dollar. If you are looking for more in-depth articles and information, I invite you to visit one of the websites in my Wise Bettor network.

I have bought so many casino winning systems in my lifetime. Unfortunately, none of them have given me the results that they promised. If there was a system to beat the casinos on a consistent basis, someone would have figured it out by now, and the casinos would be out of business. In saying that, I don’t believe that winning at the casinos is an impossible goal. I’ve developed a system to win more consistently at the casinos, based on my previous wins, and my most successful nights at the casino. Here is my most successful winning system. Follow it and I believe you will experience more wins in a shorter period of time.

1) Winning is a long term objective

If you try winning too much money in a short period of time, you’ll bet too much, and end up losing it all. Any winning strategy requires patience, smart betting, and a long term focus.

2) Don’t gamble too much

You’ll soon discover that if you gamble too much, and you don’t win, your money will quickly disappear within a few bets.

3) Bet on high odd gambles

In Roulette, for example, betting on single numbers offers the biggest wins. However, it also offers the smallest chance to win. Betting on even money bets offers the best chances to win, even if the money is not as good. Winning a little bit of money is always better than losing a lot of money.

4) Don’t double up for losses

This is the fastest way to lose all of your money because probability is unpredictable. In times of big losing streaks, you won’t survive if you keep doubling up and losing.

5) Set a budget

How much are you prepared to lose? Never go beyond this amount. Leaving the casino dead broke is emotionally devastating and destructive.

6) Understand that losing is acceptable

Whenever I experience my biggest wins, its because the idea of losing did not concern me one bit. If you don’t care about losing, you will win a lot more often. I can’t explain this phenomenon, but it seems to be a reality.

Most of my wins using this system have come from the game of Roulette. Betting on black, red, odd, even, 1-18, and 19-36, I was able to win more often, and walk away with money in my pocket. This strategy works on most casino games that offer 1:1 payouts (high odd payouts). Even money payouts mean that you have a 45% chance, or more, of experiencing success (which is pretty great). In short, follow all of the above strategies, don’t bet too much, be patient, and you should experience more wins over a longer period of time.

Chuck A Luck is a gambling game that employs three dice and a wire cage or cone-shaped chute. The dice used are standard six-sided cubes numbered from 1 to 6 at each side. The chute, which can be made of either leather or metal, is usually called a 'horn'.

The use of metal chutes in the game of Chuck A Luck is associated with the so-called tinhorn gamblers, who were actually gamblers with little money, thus the choice of metal over the higher-priced leather. An early version of the game was played by the dice being thrown or "chucked" - hence the name. A heavy welded metal birdcage device eventually became the standard use where only the dealers are allowed to turn the cage.

The Chuck A Luck cage has been loosely interchanged by many with any birdcage tumbler. This is only true on the basis of the game's definition as long as there are three dice in the cage. Cages are also used for other games such as High/Low (Under and Over) but with a different number of dice.

Origins of Gambling and Gaming in the US

Long before casinos came to be, card, dice and gaming table possession were outlawed in some places. As time passed, laws were relaxed to allow casual gaming or games for purely recreational purposes and not for trade. However, general hostility toward professional gamblers took a long time to go away and sometimes resulted in lynching.

There were places, however, that accepted gambling as a harmless form of recreational activity. Legal gambling took the form of card, dice and animal racing games that were perceived to be proper gentlemen's diversion. The wide appeal of gambling is attributed to its association with the frontier spirit, which relies on high expectations, risk-taking and opportunism.

Lotteries were widespread and used mainly to raise revenues. Some of the earliest and most prestigious universities such as Harvard and Yale were established using proceeds coming from lotteries. Dice and card games in taverns and roadhouses slowly initiated casino gaming. Casinos were established as the population increased.

During the highest point of California gambling, Faro was the most popular game played in saloons; followed by several dice games such as high/low, chuck a luck and grand hazard. The spread of settlers beyond California expedited the spread of gambling as well. Since then, laws have been enacted across the country in a bid to bestow respectability and recognition of legal gambling.

Origins of Chuck A Luck

Chuck A Luck is an old game that originated in English pubs. It was then known as "Sweat Cloth" and was introduced in the US sometime around 1800 as "Sweat". It also became known by several other names such as "Chucker Luck", "Chuck-Luck" and "Chuck" during the mid-to-late 1800's. It was only after 1900 that it was called "Birdcage" and eventually "Chuck A Luck".

"Sweat" was played using a cup and three dice, which were thrown. Due to allegations of cheating by operators in the use of weighted or trick-shaped dice and the practice of trick dice throwing, the cup was replaced by a birdcage-like device which was flipped several times by the dealer and displayed the results when the cage stopped and the dice dropped.

Chuck A Luck took a more advanced form through "Grand Hazard", another type of dice game. The main difference lies in the layout. At present, the game can be found only in a handful of casinos worldwide, overshadowed by more recent versions of the simple dice game. Casino dice games have indeed come a long way, considering that tossing up dice holds traces of the ancient cult, being associated with the rituals of fortune telling.

As craps is a game of real chance you need to focus on the bets that give you the best odds in craps to win.

Craps Odds of success with the best bets are surprisingly good and you can play at almost even with the house, making craps odds on best bets, better than those in other games of chance such as roulette and slots.

Let's look at the bets with the best odds in craps.

To understand the game better, and why Craps Odds on the right bets give you great chance of winning, lets look at the various bets you can make, and what advantage (in percent) they give to the house.

Although there are over 40 bets you can make in Craps, here are the most popular and the odds (advantage) they bring to the house.

SEVEN -16.66%

ELEVEN -16.66%

PLACE BETS - 1.51%.

BUY BETS - 4.76%. Note: Player pays 5% ″vigorish″ to get true odds on all numbers. Only the 4 and 10 make buy bets are worth it. They reduce the house edge to 4.76%.

HARD WAYS This bet can be made in two ways on 4, 6, 8 and 10. Payoff is 9 to 1 on the 6 or 8 and 7 to 1 on the 4 or 10. The house edge is 9.09% and 11.11%, respectively

PASS LINE - 1.414%

DON’T PASS - 1.402%

COME BETS & DON’T COME Same house percentages of 1.414% and 1.402%, as pass line bets.

THE FIELD - 5.55%.

ANY CRAPS - 11.11%

BIG 6 & 8 - 9.09%

How to get it even.

As each throw of the dice is unique, systems cannot predict anything, especially what will fall on the next throw.

All you will need to know, to play well and win is how to bet with the best Craps Odds bets.

First, you need to know how to bet on the passline and then how to apply Craps Odds.

The passline bet is first made before the new shooter begins his throw. If he throws a 7 or 11, you win with him. If he throws a 2, 3, or 12, you lose with him. But if he throws a 4 or 5 or 6 or 8 or 9 or 10, he achieves a "point" (a number he will roll to make again before he rolls a 7), and here you can apply Craps Odds.

The Odds Bet

As we said, the Odds bet will reduce the house advantage. Here is how it's done.

After you bet on the passline and the shooter has his point, the house may allow you to make an additional bet known as an Odds bet. You place this bet behind your original passline bet on the table.

If the shooter makes his point, you are paid even money for your passline bet and additionally you are paid the true odds for you odds bet reducing the house advantage. These are:

If the point is 4 or 10 your win is paid 2 to 1.

If the point is 5 or 9 your win is paid 3 to 2.

If the point is 6 or 8 your win is paid 6 to 5.

Some casinos will allow you to take double Crap Odds on your passline bet. For example if you put $50 on the passline, you would be able to place odds bet of $100.

Statistically, the passline bet has a house advantage of 1.41%. When you place an additional odds bet, you bring this way down.

A passline bet with single odds has a house edge of 0.85% and with double odds the edge is further too just 0.61% 4, 5, 6 Times Odds. A player sometimes allowed to take three/ four / five times odds, depending on the point number.

If the point is 4 or 10 you can take 3 times odds

If the point is 5 or 9 you can take 4 times odds.

If the point is 6 or 8 you can take 5 times odds.

Always take odds when you have the opportunity to do so The best bet?

When betting you need to keep the odds of craps bets in your mind and only play the ones with the best chances of success.

For right bettors (those betting with the shooter) are pass and come bets with full odds on both for wrong bettors (those betting with the house) are don't pass and don't come with full odds on both.

Focus on the bets with the best craps Odds and you will increase your chances of winning dramatically and keep in mind craps is a fun game to but more fun, when you're winning!

Steve Wynn The third serious player on the market of gambling entertainments in Las Vegas and Macao. Steve was born in 1942 in Connecticut. Unlike Kirk and Sheldon, Steve received very good education, according to American standards - he graduated from Pennsylvania university. Steve had to engage in private business straight after graduation. His father, the owner of the network of bingo clubs in the west of the U.S., died when Steve was still a student. The son continues his business. Steve's career in "big" business starts in 1967. Having saved some money, he buys a small share of the casino-hotel "Frontier" in Las Vegas, where he moved for permanent residence together with his wife. Having no funds to build his own casino, Steve gets acquainted with the owners of the already existing casinos and offers them his services in renewal of their business. His first project was reconstruction of the casino «Golden Nugget». Steve transformed the absolutely ordinary casino into a luxurious institution, which immediately became a great success with the players. Having showed himself and earned a pretty penny, Steve decided to invest money into buying shares of other Vegas casinos, in order to reconstruct them as well. The following major project is renovation of the casino «The Mirage». According to Steve's conception, it was to become the most outstanding, rich, elite casino of Las Vegas. He intends to found there a big park and an artificial volcano, and make the best rooms and hotel service in Vegas. Steve bets on luxury. Despite apprehensions of the partners (the project was very expensive), he managed to embody his ideas. «The Mirage» became and for a long period remained the most prestigious casino of Las Vegas, bringing huge profits to its owners.

After this project Steve's name enters the history of the world capital of gambling. However, Steve does not rest on his laurels. Conversely, he becomes thoroughly engrossed in a new reckless venture. Developing his conception of a "luxurious casino", he totally changes the casino-hotel «Bellagio»: an artificial lake, an internal greenhouse, an art gallery with canvases of great painters, expensive boutiques and restaurants. Enormous diligence, multiplied by talent, made Steve one of the richest people in Vegas, the owner of casinos. In 2000 he sells «The Mirage» to the company «MGM Grand», which after this purchase changes its name to «MGM Mirage».

Wynn spends most of his money on building a new institution, which opens in April 2005 on the site of «Desert Inn». The new brainchild of Steve is called «Wynn Las Vegas». Apart from interests in Vegas, Steve invests funds into conquering the Asian market. In the short-term perspective it is planned to open the casino «Wynn Macau». Steve's activity has brought him 2.1 billion dollars, which allowed him to occupy the 365th position in «Forbes» world rating.

Stanley Ho The wealthiest representative of gambling industry in Asia who for more than 30 years was the single ruler of this industry in Macao. Stanley was born in 1921 in Hong Kong. His great-grandfather was a Dutch Jew who married a local woman. The Ho family was one of the most renowned and influential in Hong Kong. But Stanley was not able to make use of the wealth of this family. His father went bankrupt, when Stanley was a student. Due to financial break-down his two brothers committed a suicide, and his father renounced his family and left Stanley with two sisters and mother. Despite all hardships, he successfully graduated from Hong Kong university and mastered three languages. Stanley started his career in a trade company, located in Macao. Outstanding business skills and proficiency in several languages allow him to become a shareholder of the company at the age of 21. Ho received his first fortune as a result of a very unpleasant accident. Stanley was responsible for sea trade. During one of the voyages the ship with Stanley, who carried a great amount of money, aboard was subject to an armed attack. Stanley, practically on his own (many of his fellow employees were killed) stands against the gang and returns both the money and the ship. The company duly appreciated the courage of their employee and rewarded him a bonus of one million! In 1943 Ho invested his million into construction industry, his new company is located in Hong Kong. At this time the city undergoes a real construction boom, and Stanley receives very decent dividends from his business. But his ambitions are not limited to construction business, together with his partners he wins the tender for the monopolistic right to open gambling institutions in Macao. Stanley won the tender with the sum of only 410 thousand dollars. For many years Ho's company becomes the monopolist of Macao gambling market. Stanley invests all his money and skills in this company. By 1972 he owns 9 casinos, including casino-hotel «Lisboa», one of the most beautiful casinos of the world.

In the 90-ies Ho extends beyond the borders of Macao and opens 9 casinos on the Philippines, however, as a result of a conflict with the president of this country, he had to renounce his Philippine business. Apart from the casino, Ho owns many betting operators and totalizators. In 2003 the budget of Macao by 30% consisted of revenues from the activities of the companies that belonged to Stanley. His business provides work to more than 10 thousand people. In 1998 Ho becomes one of the first living inhabitants of Macao, in whose honour the local street was named. But earlier or later everything comes to an end. Ho's idyll ends in 2000, when Macao authorities decide to cancel monopoly for gambling industry. Since 2002 Ho has to share gambling industry with American "sharks" – Wynn and Adelson, who immediately used the chance to become familiar with Asian market. Presently Stanley Ho's fortune is 6.5 billion dollars, he has the 84th position in the «Forbes» world rating.
